Ludwika Ogorzelec is is a Polish sculptress, who have been living in Paris since 1985. She realizes her works of art, known for being site-specific, on all the continents. At the beginning of her artistic career, after graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, she was invited by the famous French artist César to use his studio in Paris where she created innovative sculptures which the maestro commented on in this way: I am happy you are here. You have brought forth a new, completely different aesthetic to my studio and thus you have shown my students that a true creativity really exists. It was thanks to César’s recommendation to the then French prime minister that Ludwika Ogorzelec could become resident in France.

The book is the first monograph of her sculptural activity pursued for over thirty years now. She represents highly original, I daresay phenomenal, sculpture which is a sort of drawing in space: space being a crucial material shaped by means of natural lines of wood or transparent cellophane, sometimes glass or metal.
