The book in Polish only

The ill-considered destruction of natural heritage (on an unprecedented scale in democratic Poland), which we are dealing with recently, provoked Ewa Mankowska-Grin to create the next volume in the seriesArchitecture is the most important. The volume is entirely devoted to trees. The EMG publishing house has offered selected authors to write essays on trees and their role in the context of architectural and urban planning activities. The variety of views and attitudes presented in the sketches reflects the wealth of possible ways of understanding and describing the difficult relationship between nature and culture.

The texts in the book byBarbara Bartkowicz, Marta Leśniakowska, Małgorzata Omilanowska, Olga Tokarczuk, Grzegorz Piątek, Piotr WróbelJan Rylke face the issues of interdependence, sharp conflict, interpenetration and coexistence of the world of trees with man’s civilization which is developing at a crazy pace and its most visible emanation: architecture and construction.
