Pi­o­neers is the answer to the wishes of the readers of the seriesAr­chi­tec­ture is the most important. After the pub­li­ca­tion of the second volume, entitledAr­chi­tects, the EMG pub­lish­ing house met with many voices asking for a con­tin­u­a­tion of the topic of women’s par­tic­i­pa­tion in cre­at­ing Polish ar­chi­tec­tural culture.Pi­o­neers is a col­lec­tion of essays about the pre­cur­sors of urban plan­ning and modern Polish ar­chi­tec­ture. About women for­got­ten in these fields, al­though they con­tributed to their development:Anna Ptaszycka, Wanda Krahelska, Wanda Melcer, Gizella Marguliesówna and Teresa Chmura-Pełech.
