As part of the opening weekend for the exhibition Humanistic Modernism: Maciej and Stanisława Nowicki, we invite you to join us for a guided tour of the exhibition and a meeting with its curator, Kacper Kępiński. During the tour, we will learn about the lives and work of Stanisława Sandecka-Nowicka and Maciej Nowicki, as well as their vision of humanistic modernism—open to dialogue, place, and diversity.
- DATE: Saturday, March 21, 2026, 1:00 PM
- VENUE: Museum of Architecture in Wrocław, 7 Bernardyńska St.
- Led by: Kacper Kępiński
- Admission upon presentation of an exhibition ticket.
The exhibition was prepared by the National Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning in Warsaw and premiered in January 2024 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York—one of the most famous buildings designed by the architectural duo. The Wrocław edition of the exhibition has been enriched with new materials and interpretations: for the first time, a wide collection of original sketches and designs from the collections of the Museum of Architecture in Wrocław, the Museum of Warsaw, and family collections will be presented, as well as posters from the National Museum in Warsaw.
During the guided tour, Kacper Kępiński will also discuss contemporary interpretations of the Nowickis’ work, illustrated in installations by Alicja Bielawska, Diana Lelonek, and Centrala. The exhibition goes beyond a presentation of their architectural legacy, becoming a space for reflection on the relationship between architecture, art, and education – a strategy that continues to offer inspiration and new avenues for the development of architecture today.
