Authors description
MPP_ALL is not just the title of the exhibition. It is also the name of a group chat for internal communication within “Maćków Pracownia Projektowa” architectural office. The title, just like the forum, is multi-threaded - it is a pretext to go beyond our professional group to talk about architecture and the future of our profession.
In 1995, we started as a team of several people. Twenty-seven years later - in 2022 - we are designing as a group of forty-seven. During that time the architectural office has been made up of over 150 people.

While making a subjective selection of projects, we tried to show a wide range of assignments we have taken up so far. The presented objects differ in terms of the overall context - from their inception through function, location and scale to the budget. They are interconnected by the fact of their completion. It is the materialization of projects in the construction process and making “finished” objects available to users, that allows for final verification of the ideas underlying individual concepts. It constitutes the most important factor inscribed in the MPP genotype, which enables gaining experience and development. The twenty-fifth anniversary of the architectural firm and the Honorary SARP Award for 2020 for its founder - Zbigniew Maćków - have become the starting point for an attempt to catalog the architectural projects, as well as an opportunity to ask ourselves a few - not only professionally important – questions. Therefore, we decided to treat the invitation to organize an exhibition as another learning opportunity - with the conviction that if we do not find answers to “big questions” here, they are still worth asking.

We consider the thirty-two architectural projects presented during the exhibition as a springboard to discuss the things that are important to us - and it is this discussion that we would like to invite you to during the tours and talks accompanying the exhibition. The exhibition consists of thirty-two completed projects, presented in the form of thirty mock-ups and thirty information cubes with the design specifications and a location marking. The exhibition is complemented by thirty short films, which show the location of buildings in the surroundings as objectively as possible. The elements of the exhibition have been designed as a coherent, reconfigurable set intended for multiple use. Each project has an assigned number whose first two digits represent the year in which we started working on a given project. The collection is opened by the building of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Wrocław from 1999, and is closed by renovation of The Maria Mill historic complex. However, the concept of the exhibition is open, and the raster of mock-ups may expand with more projects over time.
