This year’s edition theme is The Great Beauty. It is a profound idea that we are reaching for both in our life and creative work. The Vitruvian Triad as a fundament of architecture is known since classical times. Only modernists transposed Firmitas, Utilitas and Venustas into Structure, Function and Aesthetics. The Beauty (Venustas) as a pure value was reduced, substituted by lesser meanings and seems to be obliterated. Today, only a few are bold enough to speak openly about its significance in day–to–day practice. The Great Beauty is an idea that plays in the invisible part of the Platonic Cave.
