The lecture will present the difficult development of Czechoslovak architecture since the end of the WWII – at first architecture of late 1940s, connected with the tradition of the prewar avant-guard, then the Stalinist episode, the complicated resuscitation in late 1950s, architecture of the promising time of Prague Spring 1968 and than the return to totalitarian system during the so called normalization after the Soviet occupation, till the final collapse of Communist system in November 1989.
