Beautifully published and richly illustrated book is the first and complete study of Silesian mansions - a phenomenon unique on European scale. It contains rich photographic documentation showing the current status of the structures, iconographic material in the form of drawings by F.B.Werner and B. Mannfeld, as well as engravings by F.G.Endler and T. Blatterbauer, archival photographs and plans of all the buildings and preserved elements of décor. The scientific editor of the book is the curator of the Museum of Architecture,. Beata Fekecz-Tomaszewska. The book was awarded by the Association of Monument Conservators in the competition for the best study, research or dissemination work on the protection of monuments and museums in 2010.
