The book is exactly what its title announces - 476 pages and 150 photographs, a wide panorama of the architecture of the Polish People’s Republic - from post-war reconstruction, through socialist realism and modernism, to postmodernism. Although the cover shows Falowiec in Gdańsk, Anna Cymer presents not only housing estates, but also reconstructed monuments, socialist realist “palaces for the people”, thousands of churches and postmodernist churches.
