Architektura przyjaznych przestrzeni is a compilation of views and works on the various elements of the nature of space, its desired architectural arrangement, principles of composition, and the introduction of sound and light. The extensive analysis of ideas postulated by prominent 20th century architects (such as Alvar Aalto, Tadao Ando, Reima Pietilä, Álvaro Siza, Lucien Kroll) is part of a discussion on the conditions needed to create human-friendly space. Designer of residential, sacral and public buildings. Long-term president of the Association of Polish Architects (1991-2000). President of the Polish Council of Architecture since 2000 and director of the “Architecture for All” programme of the International Union of Architects since 2004. Initiator of the uia competition “Friendly and Inclusive Spaces” (2014), aimed at promoting accessible and user-friendly architecture. Co-editor and contributor to successive editions of Polish Architectural Policy. Honoured and awarded many times, including the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Rebirth of Poland (2003) and the Officer’s Cross of the Order (2012). Since 2000, honorary professor at Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology. Winner of the “Accessibility Leader” competition in the category of architect/urban planner (2021) for his lifetime achievement in of design that takes into account the needs of people with disabilities
